Produce high-quality, maintainable, tested code using established frameworks and common design patterns, leveraging AI-assisted development tools (such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or equivalent) to accelerate delivery without compromising code quality. Manage code reviews and code quality, promoting maintainable and scalable code that adheres to best practice. Champion the responsible use of AI-generated code, including reviewing AI outputs critically and ensuring they meet our standards. Overseeing deployments and new releases. Contribute to the development and refinement of code standards, DevOps processes, and component productisation — including collaborating on team-wide guidelines for effective and consistent AI tool usage. Provide mentoring to other team members on both technical skills and AI adoption, helping the wider team build confidence in incorporating AI tools into their daily workflows. Help translate business requirements and communicate technical solutions, challenges, and limitations to the business and clients — including advising on where AI solutions can and cannot add value. Lead delivery for key projects or tasks that support the Technical Services program of work, identifying opportunities to use AI tooling to improve efficiency and output quality. Identify and remove bottlenecks and risks that impede progress and quality of delivery, including evaluating AI tools that could help streamline or automate repetitive development tasks. Developing an agency-first mentality in highlighting scope creep. Ensuring that any overages are addressed with Delivery Managers to resolve them in a timely and appropriate manner. Build internal and external networks to gain insights into industry developments, with a focus on staying ahead of how AI is reshaping eCommerce development and agency delivery models. Review and contribute to sales proposals, solutions, and business requirements documents from a technical point of view Understand the core technical requirements of our clients and advise our Sales and Delivery teams on meeting those requirements   Requirements: Tertiary qualifications in computer science, engineering, or a related field Significant industry experience working in an IT service or operations environment, including lead responsibility on projects and delivery. (5+years) Detailed knowledge and understanding of Shopify and BigCommerce SaaS platforms including building and launching stores, configuring third-party apps and migrating data Thorough understanding and commercial experience with modern JavaScript frameworks and demonstrable experience with Python, PHP or other high-level languages such as Java, and C#. Deep understanding of and expertise in AWS or other cloud platforms, CI/CD procedures, and contemporary development techniques.
