Producer - Film & Video Production – Contract

Are you looking to join a creative and passionate team where no two days are the same? Our client is on the hunt for a Producer to join their Auckland office on a contract basis until the end of 2024.

Our client is a video and film production company, and the work is primarily commercial content for online/social media distribution and TVCs. They also produce funded documentary content and narrative short-form content. They are currently in post-production on their first feature film and have another feature film in development. Their aim is to grow and produce large-scale projects such as feature films and TV series.

They are looking for a Producer who will be part of a team responsible for managing projects. The producer will work closely with other producers, directors, clients and crew. The role is office-based, with some flexibility for working from home. On certain days, depending on project requirements, the producer would attend shoots on location.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client and account management: Working alongside the Managing Director, Creative Director, producers and other team members to understand client needs. Preparing proposals, quotes and pitches. Participating in pitches to clients.
  • Production management: Leading video and other digital/storytelling projects from start to finish, ensuring that they create a product that meets the client's aims. This includes organising and scheduling people and resources, preparing briefs, preparing relevant paperwork (call sheets, schedules, H&S assessments etc).
  • Creative and project direction: In pre-production, creative concept development through collaboration with clients and other creatives. Scripting and shot listing. On-set directing where appropriate. Supervising and directing edits in post-production.
  • Project accounts and finance: Preparing jobs for invoicing, sending invoices to clients and managing and approving contractor invoices.
  • Business development support: Input on changes to systems and processes, input on infrastructure development (production equipment, editing workstations etc). Input on marketing activities.

 

To be successful, you will have 5+ years of experience working in the film/advertising/media/communications industry in a comparable role. You are passionate about storytelling and getting great outcomes for clients. You are organised, with strong attention to detail and have the ability to self-manage.

This role can be 4 or 5 days/week, working in the agency office, however some flexibility is offered. ASAP start.
