Mid to Senior UX Designer - Contract

Our client is an advertising agency affiliated with a global technology client. You can work in either Sydney Olympic Park or the CBD (hot desk setup—whichever suits) NSW. They are looking for a super-sharp, mid-to-senior UX Designer to join their team. This is a hybrid role, working both from home and in-office on a full-time basis for a 12-month contract initially.

Reporting to the Head of Digital, the UX Designer will be responsible for conducting A/B testing programs for e-commerce clients, conducting UX research, defining integration models and success metrics, developing wireframes and prototypes, problem-solving, testing, creating storyboards, performing audits, and analysing customer data.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Develop and execute design systems, web and mobile user interfaces, wireframes, interactive prototypes, user flows, and other design deliverables.
- Work with the digital experience team to conduct A/B testing programs for e-commerce clients, generating test hypotheses based on user research and analytics, creating test prototypes in Figma, and analysing test results for further iteration and improvement.
- Gain a deep understanding of user needs and requirements and incorporate them into the design process.
- Conduct user research, including user interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to inform design decisions and validate design concepts.
- Collaborate closely with product management and engineering teams to ensure the translation of design concepts into a high-quality end product.
- Ensure the accessibility and responsiveness of designs to provide a seamless user experience across different devices and platforms.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including product managers, developers, and marketers, to ensure a consistent and user-centric design experience.
- Ensure designs adhere to industry standards, UX/UI best practices, and eCommerce design trends.
- Iterate designs based on feedback and user testing, continually seeking to improve the user experience.
- Stay up to date with emerging design trends, technologies, and industry advancements.
- Provide thoughtful and constructive feedback to fellow designers to foster a culture of collaboration and growth.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design, preferably in eCommerce or digital product design.
- Bachelor’s degree in design (HCD, Communication, Digital, Applied Design) or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of analytics and proficiency using analytics tools (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics).
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools – Figma, Miro, Adobe Creative Suite.
- Working knowledge of front-end web technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, to effectively communicate design specifications with developers.
- Strong understanding of design principles, UX/UI best practices, and user-centered design methodologies.
- Strong understanding of A/B testing, hypothesis generation, and results analysis.
- Proven experience developing user-friendly designs for web and mobile applications, with a strong portfolio showcasing past work.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate design decisions and rationale to cross-functional teams.
- Ability to conduct user research and gather actionable insights to inform design iterations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically about user needs and business objectives.
- Adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
- Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
You will have 5+ years of agency experience, along with a high level of hands-on design experience, with a relevant qualification. You will be confident to design across all facets - including UX and have a high level of competency with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
