Digital Marketing Executive - Freelance

Our client is a global producer and distributor of film entertainment, and there is an opportunity to join their marketing team to lead all digital media functions on a 6 month freelance basis with the potential to extend.

Working alongside the Senior Media and Digital Manager, you will be responsible for the development and provision of all digital materials for film releases. You will be required to liaise with internal marketing teams and external digital production agencies to provide a broad range of online and social media strategy, implementation, campaign management and production support to assist in the delivery of impactful and effective film marketing campaigns.

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Development and/or localisation of digital creative materials in conjunction with an external production agency for all digital advertising campaigns
  • Manage digital campaign asset timelines to ensure all material deadlines are met
  • Work closely with film title leads and the media agency to ensure synergy with digital campaign strategy and materials
  • Liaise with Hollywood head office on digital creative requirements, assets & deadlines
  • Manage creative digital agency relationship – from the concept stage through to implementation and delivery
  • Oversee adhoc digital production and design requests from the publicity & promotions teams in conjunction with outside production company
  • Help develop & execute local content marketing campaigns by managing & optimising online creative rotation (based on weekly tracking and reporting)
  • Lead social media content strategy including scheduling of content across social channels & community management
  • Execute digital trailer launches (including 24-hour reporting)
  • Ad hoc digital responsibilities that arise


The role is for 6 months on a freelance basis, with an ASAP start in July 2024. You will be based in their office in Pyrmont and must be available Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays for in-office days and the rest working from home.

As an ideal candidate, you will bring at least 3 years of experience in delivering marketing campaigns, social media strategy and production support. You will have strong communication, organisational, and time management skills, with excellent attention to detail. You bring a creative flair to planning and implementing digital content, placement, and environments.

You are able to work autonomously and within a team, and you take direction from different stakeholders and manage conflicting priorities and multiple projects effectively. With a thorough understanding of digital processes and solid problem-solving skills, you excel under pressure in deadline-oriented environments. You are a fast learner with analytical skills, particularly in handling numbers, data, and insights, and have a strong eye for formatting and presentation.
